My research for my doctoral dissertation explores the perspectives of community members in Costa Rica who interact with students from universities in the United States.  There are few empirical studies exploring what community members view as the opportunities and challenges of programs where US university students are engaging in their communities’.  As a scholar, I seek to bring this seldom heard voice into the conversation and to understand what community members see as value and challenges of these programs.

I also am working to further the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning within my own classroom.  Here is one presentation from the 2019 annual conference of the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture.
